Wood Flooring / Hardwood Flooring
There is nothing that could ever replace the real and original hardwood floors. These floors come from the history and are probably the first part of interior design that people have ever started to use beside all the different types of little accessories and furniture.
Although hardwood flooring has a really attractive appearance and probably the most durable floor in the world if taken care of and installed properly it also has some disadvantages. The main fault is the price as wood itself is everything but cheap and quite often hardwood floor is just not affordable. The reason for this is not only the high wood price but also the fact that hardwood floors usually have to be installed by professionals. Of course you could do it yourself but if you have not had any experience in that field that be prepared to seeing a result that is not as good as you would have wanted. In addition, to install a hardwood floor properly the existing floor has to be removed and when compared to for example laminate flooring the hardwood floor cannot be laid on top of an old floor.
Nevertheless, hardwood floors look really amazing and give a warm and different feeling to a room, thus they are a valuable and long lasting investment.
